Something New...

I'm currently in the process of getting the site up and running again; i'm working on quite a lot of shit. Just uploaded the old layout for now, and am working on the CMS. The next few months should spawn a nice array of changes. I'm thinking of bring a few other people in on the project... a new codemonkey for sure, because if my current php abilities were a sharp piece of metal, one slip could lead to tetanus [i'm rusty]. Fortunately, I know just the man for the job [assuming he’s not too busy with other adventuring].

I'm also debating bringing in a few new artists and turning WalkingParadox into a kind of collaborative art/design miniature collective. Ideally, there will be two or three new artists; each of unique cultural/familial origin, each embracing opposing stylistic preference/strengths/weaknesses, and most importantly a unique view of "art". Each artist will have their own separate section of the site containing a [somewhat] formal portfolio and artist statement, and probably some variety of image/text “blog”. I have a few people in mind, but I certainly would love to include someone with a more "classical" view of visual art [i.e, someone who primarily works objectively doing things such as portraiture and illustration]. I would also be very interested in including a classical photographer.

This "communal" vibe will highlight the interpersonal symbiosis spawned fundamental differences which make us individuals. This concept, I believe to be the most astonishing capability the human race possesses. IF we can make this work, WalkingParadox will encourage myself and the new artists to work to our individual strengths, creating a great opportunity for all of us to progress. If WalkingParadox contains the amalgamated work of few profoundly different artists; it will no longer simply document the ramblings of a single maniac, but it will exist as an embodiment of human life, culture, and the human condition in modern America.
